Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to Annals of Medicine and Medical Ethics (AMME). All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether they fall within the journal's aims and scope and meet the required standards of scientific quality, originality, and ethical integrity. Manuscripts considered suitable for the journal will be sent for independent peer review before a final decision regarding acceptance or rejection is made.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce or publish any copyrighted material included in the submission, including photographs, figures, tables, documents, datasets, or other third-party content. All individuals listed as authors must have made a substantial contribution to the work, approved the final manuscript, and consented to its submission. Where applicable, research involving human participants, animals, biological specimens, or identifiable data must have received approval from an appropriate institutional ethics committee or review board and must comply with the ethical and legal requirements of the country in which the study was conducted.

The Editorial Office reserves the right to desk reject manuscripts that do not meet the journal's minimum standards of quality, scientific rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, or relevance to the scope of Annals of Medicine and Medical Ethics. Authors should ensure that the study design is methodologically sound, the research question is clearly articulated, the findings are accurately presented, and the conclusions are supported by the data. Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise English, with an informative title and a well-structured abstract capable of standing independently. Careful preparation of the manuscript will facilitate the editorial and peer-review process and improve the likelihood of successful evaluation.

The Author Guidelines provide comprehensive instructions regarding article types, manuscript preparation, formatting requirements, reporting guidelines, ethical responsibilities, declarations (including conflicts of interest, funding, author contributions, data availability, and AI use where applicable), reference style, preparation of tables and figures, supplementary materials, and the online submission process. Compliance with these guidelines facilitates a smooth editorial workflow and expedites peer review. Manuscripts that do not conform to the journal's submission requirements may be returned to the authors for technical revision before editorial assessment.
